Compositing and Post Production Assessment

Compositing and Post Production Assessment

It’s got to that time of year again where Christmas is rolling round the corner, which means one thing: DEADLINES! I normally dread the thought, however, this year, it’s different. My task involves:

“Exploring a variety of characteristics associated with compositing, rostrum camera technique and text/image tilting to develop a creative approach towards producing a motion image sequence.”

A task I am currently working through and thoroughly enjoying! I have decided on an audio clip sourced from YouTube. The audio is from a guy situated in Texas who witnesses a crash whilst recording a voice mail to a friend. The events unfold in front of him and turns into a comedic story.

I am using motion typography for my two minute piece and 2D parallax effect for my 10 second sting, created in After Effects. Above is an image of the working piece. Never really using after effects before, it’s been a real learning curve! However, I’ve been stuck-in-there from the very beginning and I feel it has a professional flair to the almost-finished project now!

I will be posting the final piece on Tuesday when it is submitted. Until then, I’ll be cramming as many hours in as I can! Wish me luck..
